Storyline: The upcoming 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is expected to see the world's latest healthcare technologies in Shanghai, showing new breakthroughs in medical instrument development, biopharmaceutics, and digital diagnosis and treatment. The CIIE will be held from Nov 5 to 10, featuring 4,108 overseas exhibitors from 155 countries, regions and international organizations, with the total exhibition area exceeding 430,000 square meters. One of the highlights is the da Vinci robotic system used for minimally invasive surgery. It enables surgeons to control four mechanical arms holding instruments to operate inside the patient's body through four 0.8-centimeter incisions. This practice enhances dexterity while reducing the size of the incisions compared with conventional surgery. It is equipped with an endoscopic camera to provide a three-dimensional high-definition field of view, enabling surgeons to see the surgical part more clearly and enhancing the precision of the operation. "It magnifies 10 times with clearer visualization, enabling precise dissection. As it saves much physical strength, surgeons who traditionally could perform only about two operations a day can now complete three or four ones with the da Vinci system," said the exhibitor. The CIIE will also present diagnostic and therapeutic devices capable of intelligent navigation within complex bronchi, digital twin platforms that can meticulously replicate the human body, and computerized tomography (CT) scanners that capture four-dimensional images in mere seconds, all of which can be applied across a broader range of medical scenarios. "This is the world's first 2.5-second ultra-fast intraoperative CT imager. It can detect hidden lesions within 2.5 seconds. Stroke patients no longer need to be transferred between multiple departments. Preoperative assessment and intraoperative treatment can be completed directly on this device in a single step, saving at least 30 minutes of critical treatment time," said an exhibitor. From smart diagnostic devices to precision treatment methods and from telemedicine services to personalized health management, the cutting-edge medical technologies to be exhibited at the CIIE will not only demonstrate how the efficiency and quality of healthcare services are enhanced, but also allow visitors to experience safer, more convenient and personalized diagnostics and treatment.
