Sinner Wins Paris Masters to Reclaim World No. 1. Jannik Sinner defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) to claim his first Paris Masters title and regain the world number one ranking from Carlos Alcaraz. The victory extended Sinner’s indoor hard-court winning streak to 26 matches, a run dating back to the 2023 Davis Cup Finals. With this win, the 24-year-old Italian moves 250 points ahead of Alcaraz ahead of the ATP Finals in Turin, beginning on 9 November. Sinner’s triumph guarantees that the battle for the year-end world number one will go down to the final tournament of the season. The Italian and the Spaniard have dominated men’s tennis, winning the past eight Grand Slam titles between them. Sinner’s return to the top comes after losing his number one spot to Alcaraz at the US Open in September. His Paris performance was near flawless, dropping the fewest games en route to the title since the event switched to hard courts in 2007. Sinner said he was “happy to return to number one,” adding that his focus remains on “maximising potential” and preparing for the season finale in Turin.
