On November 1 in Ganzi, Sichuan Province, a group of Tibetan macaques were seen playing outside a residential home. One of them became fascinated by the smoke rising from the roof and kept reaching out to grab at it.
The Tibetan macaque is a species of monkey found in southeastern Tibet, northwestern Yunnan, as well as parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan. They typically inhabit mountainous forests and grasslands, feeding on fruits, seeds, and insects. The species is classified as a national second-class protected animal in China.
