A family climbed onto their roof with their baby to escape rising floodwaters brought by Typhoon Kalmaegi in the Philippines.

Dramatic footage shows residents clambering onto their roofs as severe flooding swept through Cebu on November 4.

Later footage shows the family remaining on their rooftop, with the toddler seemingly unaware of the disaster, calmly eating under the overcast sky.

Kalmaegi, locally known as Tino, has killed at least 114 people and displaced hundreds of thousands across the country.

State weather bureau PAGASA said the storm dumped more than a month's worth of rain in just 24 hours in Southern Leyte and Cebu.

The freak weather system packed maximum sustained winds of 155 kph and gusts of up to 190 kph as it moved towards central Vietnam.
