This is the heartwarming moment villagers carried a house to a new location.

Kind locals came together to help their neighbour, Yang Shengming, move his wooden home to a new spot in Pingzhai Village, Guizhou, China.

Footage shows more than 200 men placing their shoulders beneath long poles supporting the base of the two-storey building on November 5.

Working in unison, they lifted the entire structure off the ground and slowly moved it step by step towards its new location 98ft (30m) away from the place.

Local media reported that another property will be built on the prime site after the old house's relocation.

Yang Shengming said: 'I notified my relatives and neighbours through the village radio, and soon more than 200 people came forward to help. There were about 230 men, women, and young villagers who joined that day.'

Resident Lao Yang explained that he planned to build a new brick house on the original site, so the old wooden house was temporarily moved to serve as a temporary residence.

As a gesture of gratitude, Lao reportedly prepared more than 20 banquet tables in the village to thank everyone who helped.

He said: 'Rural people are very sincere and simple. I just wanted to express my gratitude through a simple meal I could offer.'

Wu Jianxing, secretary of the Pingzhai Village Party Committee, said there are over 1,500 residents in the village, mainly from the Dong and Shui ethnic groups, who are known for helping one another.

He said: 'You don't need to give money, just treat everyone to a meal as a way of saying thank you.'
