BIRMINGHAM, UK - NOV. 6: Heavy security measures were implemented around Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham on Thursday, November 6, ahead of the UEFA Europa League match between Aston Villa and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Authorities declared the airspace over the stadium a no-fly zone, while more than 700 police officers — including mounted units, K9 teams, drone operators, and traffic police — were deployed to ensure security.

Protesters opposing Israel’s actions in Gaza called for the match to be canceled and for Israel to be banned from international football.

Banners reading “No War Games Allowed,” “Shooting Babies in Gaza, Playing Games in Birmingham,” and “Give Zionism the Red Card” were displayed around the stadium.
