A dramatic incident unfolded at a jewellery store in Ahmedabad’s Ranip area when a woman attempted to rob the shop by throwing chilli powder at the owner.

CCTV footage shows the woman, her face partially covered with a dupatta, pretending to be a customer before suddenly hurling chilli powder in the owner’s direction. However, the quick-thinking jeweller managed to dodge the attack, pinned the woman down, and slapped her repeatedly — reportedly at least 17 times — before dragging her out of the shop.

The woman fled the scene empty-handed before police arrived. Authorities have reviewed the surveillance footage and launched an investigation, even though the shop owner has reportedly declined to file a formal complaint.
