US, Phoenix: Phoenix Pedestrian Struck On I-17 Entrance Ramp

Phoenix, United States - November 08, 2025 11/08/2025 05:20 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers, Phoenix police officers, and Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on the northbound I-17 on-ramp from Northern Avenue. Troopers arrived to find an unidentified pedestrian lying near the shoulder of the ramp. Phoenix Fire Department crews arrived a short time later and transported the pedestrian to a nearby trauma center with serious injuries. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian pulled over at a fuel station near Dunlap Avenue and I-17. Troopers contacted the driver and documented the damage. The driver was cooperative and was not impaired. DPS briefly established a hard closure for the northbound lanes of I-17, diverting mainline traffic onto Northern Avenue, while troopers investigated the collision. Phoenix police officers assisted troopers by shutting down the northbound on-ramp, north of Northern Avenue.
