President Donald Trump was met with boos at a football game in Democrat-held Maryland.

The Leader of the Free World attended the match between the Washington Commanders and the Detroit Lions at Northwest Stadium in Landover.

Footage shows the crowd jeering as Trump appeared on the videoboard late in the first half on November 9, alongside House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Trump was asked to lead the Oath of Enlistment for new US military recruits during the NFL's Salute to Service event.

The crowd's reaction aligns with the area's voting patterns. Former Vice President Kamala Harris (D) won more than 90 per cent of the vote in Washington, DC, and 62 per cent in Maryland. She also carried Virginia, though by a smaller margin.
