This is the shocking moment a car smashed into a supermarket - narrowly missing a bystander.

Halil Baytal, 29, was walking along a pavement when the black sedan suddenly crashed into the front of the store in Adana, Turkey.

CCTV footage shows the pedestrian dodging the speeding vehicle as two women behind him ran for safety on Suleyman Vahit Street on November 3.

Halil can be seen sprinting away to avoid the car, but stumbled and fell to the ground.

Local media reported that the 24-year-old driver, identified as S.S., lost control of the vehicle while driving along the street.

Authorities confirmed that four people, including the driver, were injured in the incident.

Halil suffered a leg injury and has been fitted with a cast. He is currently recovering at home.

He said: 'I was on my way home and called my wife to ask if she wanted anything, but she didn't answer her phone at that moment. I walked past the girls in front of me.

'While heading home, it felt as if someone turned my head to the left. When I looked, a car was coming straight at me. Within a second, I turned my head left and jumped into the air.

'It hit my right foot hard, and my foot cracked. My lower back was injured too. The people who caused the accident were also hurt. When I fell to the ground and heard that sound, I thought I was dead.'
