Motorcycle cop crashes into crowd during police open day leaving spectators injured
At around 2 p.m. on November, 8 during an open day event at the Suzhou Police Headquarters in Jiangsu Province, a female motorcycle officer from the Suzhou Public Security Bureau’s Traffic Management Division accidentally struck three spectators while performing a public riding demonstration.
The collision occurred after she lost control of her motorcycle, which brushed against members of the front-row audience, injuring three people.
After the incident, the officer dismounted but did not immediately check on the injured spectators. Instead, she first inspected the condition of her motorcycle, an action that drew criticism for being inappropriate and showing a lack of service awareness and concern for public safety.
Other police officers at the scene promptly escorted the injured spectators to hospital for examination and provided full assistance throughout. All three were later discharged and have since returned home.
Following the incident, the Suzhou Public Security Bureau’s Traffic Management Division issued a formal reprimand and educational guidance to the officer involved. The responsible officials and the officer personally visited the injured parties to offer sincere apologies and ensure proper comfort and compensation arrangements.
On November 11, the Suzhou Public Security Bureau’s Traffic Management Division released an official statement expressing deep regret over the issues exposed by the incident, pledging to learn from the experience, further strengthen professional training, and tighten safety management measures to prevent similar occurrences in future.
