A festival visitor was injured when a stall sign collapsed during a storm in Thailand.

Kornkamon Kaewta, 37, was near the Phra Pathommachedi stupa at Wat Phra Pathommachedi Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan when strong winds toppled a Red Cross stall sign onto her, injuring her back.

Footage shows emergency responders pushing her on a stretcher into an ambulance on November 10. She was taken to Nakhon Pathom Hospital for treatment.

Authorities confirmed the incident happened on the final day of the annual Phra Pathommachedi Festival, a nine-day religious event where visitors pay respect to the stupa.

They apply gold leaves to Buddhist statues, enjoy food stalls and amusement rides, and participate in fundraising activities for the temple's maintenance.

Although some entertainment was paused due to the national mourning period for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, other carnival events continued.

The Meteorological Department forecasted thunderstorms in around 20 per cent of Bangkok and nearby areas, with temperatures ranging from 25–26 degrees Celsius in the morning to 32–33 degrees Celsius at the peak of the day.
