PARKER, Colo. — Parker Police officers helped rescue a deer after it became stuck halfway through a fence, the department said.

Residents called police after spotting the doe wedged tightly between metal rails. When officers arrived, they found the deer had likely been running at full speed when it attempted to pass through the fence and became trapped.

For about 10 minutes, officers worked carefully to free the animal, using slow, controlled movements to avoid injury to both the deer and themselves. Once released, the doe sprinted away unharmed.

Police said they hope she avoids fences in the future — but they’re glad they could help her return to the wild.
