Edmond, United States - November 08, 2025 The Rev. Derrick Scobey, senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, was arrested for trespassing at the White House Black Market boutique in Edmond on Saturday after refusing to leave the store when police arrived. According to the Edmond Police Department, officers responded to the boutique at 1454 S Bryant after the store manager requested that Scobey be removed from the premises. When he refused to leave, officers placed him under arrest. Bodycam footage released by police shows Scobey seated inside the store before being handcuffed and escorted to a patrol car. In the footage, Scobey tells officers, “So you think I’m not going to advocate for my wife?” An officer replies, “I get that, but this is not the way to do it.” The arrest followed an earlier incident at the same location, where Scobey’s wife, Angela, accused an employee of groping her. Edmond Police confirmed that a separate investigation into that allegation is being conducted by the department’s Criminal Investigations Division. “The individual was subsequently arrested for trespassing,” the Edmond Police Department said in a statement. “The body camera of the trespassing arrest can be accessed at the link below, and that report is attached.” Following his release, Scobey announced plans to file a formal complaint against the Edmond Police Department, alleging that the arresting officer misrepresented his behavior in the official report. “By stating these claims as facts rather than allegations, the officer committed slander and defamation of character,” Scobey said. “I will not stand by and tolerate this false characterization in an official police report.”
