US Coast Guard helicopter rescues five from sinking yacht
This is the dramatic moment a US Coast Guard helicopter rescued five people from a sinking yacht off the coast of North Carolina.
The emergency responders were alerted that the sailboat Magic Bus was taking on water 260 nautical miles offshore of Cape Hatteras on Thursday, November 6.
Footage shows the MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter with a crew from Air Station Elizabeth City approaching the distressed individuals, who had taken shelter on a life raft.
The Coast Guard coordinated with the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush for refuelling support during the long-distance rescue.
All five rescued were recovered in good health and transported safely to Air Station Elizabeth City.
