HEBRON, PALESTINE - NOVEMBER 12, 2025: Israeli forces on Wednesday demolished several Palestinian homes and livestock shelters in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, in the occupied West Bank, alleging they were built without permits.

According to a statement issued by the Al-Baidar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, Israeli troops escorted bulldozers into the area at dawn and began tearing down structures belonging to Palestinian families who have lived there for decades.

Residents say the demolished homes and animal barns were essential to their livelihoods. Families were left without shelter, and many lost their only means of income.

Local groups say Israel has long exerted pressure on communities in Masafer Yatta, using demolition orders and military restrictions to force Palestinians to leave the area. They describe what is happening in Masafer Yatta as a clear violation of international humanitarian law and part of a systematic policy aimed at emptying the southern Hebron region of its Palestinian population.

In a separate incident, Israeli forces also demolished a Palestinian house in the village of Al-Walaja near Bethlehem.

The Israeli army launched a genocide in the Gaza Strip in October 2023, killing more than 69,000 people, mostly women and children, and injuring over 170,000 others.

Tel Aviv also escalated its attacks in the occupied West Bank during the same period, killing more than 1,069 Palestinians and injuring 10,300 others, Palestinian figures showed. Authorities say over 20,000 people, including 1,600 children, have been arrested since the Israel's Gaza assault began.

In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
