At least eight visitors were stuck mid-air for nearly two hours when a 30-foot-high swing malfunctioned during operation at Bali Jatra fair. Police and rescue teams used a hydraulic lift to bring them down safely on November 12.

The incident took place at about 11 p.m at the Bali Jatra fair in Cuttack district, in northern India's Odisha.

Visuals show that during a late-night incident at Bali Jatra fair, firefighters used a truck-mounted ladder to rescue eight people, including a woman and two children, trapped for over two hours on a faulty swing. Everyone was safely evacuated without injuries.

Odisha Fire Service personnel used a hydraulic lift to bring the stranded riders down safely, earning applause from the crowd. All eight individuals were rescued unharmed and later taken to a hospital for routine medical evaluation to ensure their well-being, officials confirmed, adding that fair safety protocols are now under review.
