Ryanair Goes Fully Digital, Scraps Printed Boarding Passes. Ryanair has ended the use of printed boarding passes, making digital passes mandatory across almost all routes starting Wednesday. The airline says the shift will speed up airport processing, cut costs, and reduce environmental impact. Ryanair reports that 90% of its 206 million customers already check in online and use mobile boarding passes. Campaign groups warn the change may disadvantage travellers without internet access or smartphones, including 4.3 million older people in the UK. Passengers who fail to check in online will face fees of up to £55, the company confirmed. Travellers who check in online but cannot access their mobile pass will receive a free printout, replacing the previous £20 charge. The rule applies across Ryanair’s entire network except flights to Morocco, which still require paper boarding passes. Despite the shift, airport check-in desks will remain operational for customer support. Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
