Military Police Releases Drone Footage as It Approaches Truck with Bound Victim and Explosive Device on the Rodoanel (SP - Brazil)
A driver was found tied up with a possible explosive device on Wednesday morning (12) at kilometer 44 of the Rodoanel Mário Covas, on the outer loop, in Itapecerica da Serra, Greater São Paulo. The incident mobilized teams from the Military Police, the Fire Department, and SPMar, the concessionaire responsible for the stretch.
After hours of road closure and intense work by the security teams, SPMar reported that all lanes had been reopened. Even so, traffic remained slow in the surrounding area while safety procedures were being completed.
According to the concessionaire and Artesp, the driver — who was traveling from Acre to São Bernardo do Campo — reported that he had been robbed and kidnapped by three men around 4 a.m., and forced to block the roadway with the truck before being left tied up.
Drone footage released by the Military Police captured the moment when officers approached the truck with the victim still inside the vehicle, as well as the presence of the possible explosive device. The images show the coordinated actions of teams on the ground and help assess the safety measures taken at the scene.
