A wildlife safari at Bengaluru’s Bannerghatta National Park turned unexpectedly dramatic on Thursday afternoon when a leopard jumped onto a moving safari bus, leaving one visitor with a minor injury.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. as a Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation vehicle carrying over a dozen tourists made its way through the safari zone. Among the passengers was 50-year-old Wahit Banu from Chennai, travelling with her husband and son. While she was watching wildlife through the window, the leopard suddenly leapt onto the bus, triggering moments of panic inside. In the brief commotion, Banu suffered a small injury to her hand.

Park officials said such encounters are extremely rare and urged tourists to strictly follow all safety instructions, including avoiding leaning out of safari vehicles. They noted that leopards are not typically aggressive and may react out of curiosity or instinct.

Forest personnel reached the spot quickly to assess the situation and reassure other visitors, according to the post shared with the video.
