Snake caught outside train station in Taiwan
Passengers worked together to catch a venomous snake that was seen slithering across the entrance to a train station.
Footage shows a commuter holding a trash bin while trying to trap a pit viper at Taipei City Hall metro station in Taiwan on November 11.
Another traveller used a mop to gently guide the 3ft reptile into the container.
After several failed attempts, an elderly man stepped forward and successfully lifted the serpent into the bin using the mop.
Relieved onlooker Cheng Ting said:' Cockroaches are scared of slippers, and venomous snakes are scared of mops. I cannot believe a pit viper came into the city.'
The pointed-scaled pit viper is a venomous snake native to Taiwan, often found in forests and mountainous regions.
