Los Angeles, United States - November 14, 2025 11/14/2025 01:00 am GMT-0800 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A powerful atmospheric river pushed into the Santa Clarita Valley overnight, delivering steady rain that marked the opening wave of what forecasters warn will be a prolonged, heavy-rain event. Key News Network cameras captured sheets of rain sweeping through Valencia near Valencia Boulevard and Magic Mountain Parkway as the system settled in. The National Weather Service says the worst of the storm is still ahead, with the heaviest rainfall expected overnight Thursday into early Friday, then again from late Friday into Saturday. Showers are likely to linger through Sunday afternoon. Forecasters estimate peak rainfall rates between 0.25 and 0.7 inches per hour, with storm totals projected to reach 2 to 4 inches across the region — raising concerns for localized flooding as the system continues to drench Southern California.
