Search and rescue teams have managed to pull a person out of the rubble alive, while efforts to rescue two others, a 35-year-old man and an elderly woman, continue in the town of Brazzano di Cormons, Italian news agency ANSA reported.
The person who survived the landslide was taken to the hospital in Udine with a broken leg.
It came after authorities issued an alert due to a storm for six regions in Italy—Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Lombardy, Tuscany, Umbria, and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Meanwhile, the extreme weather has also brought flooding, damage, and major disruption to other parts of Friuli Venezia Giulia, according to the report.
Roads in Visco, Trivignano, and Chiopris Viscone are also affected overnight, as the Udine fire department has received some 200 calls for assistance since midnight.
Ester Fedullo, Gorizia's governor, told ANSA that the 35-year-old man was swept away while he was trying to rescue the woman who was trapped in the mud.
