Democratic Republic of the Congo - November 17, 2025 Congolese Mines Minister Louis Watum Kabamba and his delegation survived a frightening incident on Monday when their aircraft caught fire and skidded off the runway in southern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The plane suffered a technical malfunction during landing, causing it to veer off the runway before bursting into flames. Emergency crews quickly responded, enabling all passengers to evacuate safely. No fatalities were reported, though the full extent of injuries and damage remains under assessment. The government has launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
