Grandmother and baby survive being electrocuted while plugging in fan
This is the dramatic moment a grandmother and her baby granddaughter survived being electrocuted while plugging in a fan.
Tookta, 50, was holding ten-month-old Phakamas Chancharoen when she tried to switch on the fan at their home in Phetchaburi, central Thailand, on the morning of November 14.
CCTV footage shows the woman connecting the appliance to the socket before a jolt of electricity surged through her.
The shock sent her crashing backwards into a playpen, causing her to drop the toddler onto the floor.
The grandmother scrambled to scoop up the crying Phakamas as she moved away from the electric socket.
Phakamas's mother, Sunira Komgtim, said: ‘The weather has been rainy and humid lately, and it caused an electric shock when they plugged in the appliance.
‘Luckily, my daughter and her grandmother were not hurt. They have already had full-body X-rays.
‘Seeing the incident happen right in front of me broke my heart. I just want to remind everyone to be extra careful whenever you plug something in.'
