This is the shocking moment scaffolding below a railway bridge collapsed, narrowly missing nearby drivers by seconds.

The rusty support frames at an East Coast Rail Link construction site suddenly gave way, crashing down onto a passing metallic grey Suzuki Swift near the Gombak toll plaza in Batu Caves, Malaysia.

Rear dashcam footage shows motorists travelling along the Middle Ring Road when the structure fell onto the highway on November 18.

The metal beams and roof panels struck the hatchback driven by a woman in her 40s, trapping her inside.

The Selayang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was dispatched immediately after receiving the alert and successfully freed the driver from the vehicle.

Local media reported that no one was injured in the incident.

The East Coast Rail Link is a major railway project connecting the east and west coasts of Peninsular Malaysia, with construction ongoing across multiple locations.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the temporary structure's collapse.
