3. GERMAN DEFENSE MINISTER BORIS PISTORIUS AND SWEDISH DEFENSE MINISTER PAL JONSON SIGNING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BERLIN, GERMANY — NOV. 18, 2025: Germany and Sweden signed an agreement on Tuesday, Nov. 18, to deepen defense cooperation between the two NATO allies.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and his Swedish counterpart, Pal Jonson, during the annual Berlin Security Conference.

Officials said the agreement establishes a permanent framework for cooperation and dialogue across all levels in areas including joint training, procurement of modern technologies, capability development, interoperability in operations, and cyber defense.

Sweden is this year's partner country at the Berlin Security Conference, organized by the Behorden Spiegel publication group. The two-day event brings together politicians, military leaders, and defense industry representatives to discuss European security challenges.
