A lorry carrying an excavator became wedged under a bridge after the driver misjudged its height.

Dashcam footage shows the lowboy trailer navigating a busy road when the excavator became lodged under the structure with its boom arm pressed against the ceiling, in Oryol, Russia.

The orange bucket loader then slid off the back of the lorry upon impact on Kromskoye Highway on November 6.

An eyewitness said the incident caused a brief traffic jam in the area. No injuries were reported.

Authorities urged drivers to exercise caution as traffic was temporarily slowed around the site.

On October 4, a speeding van's container struck the yellow height-restriction beam under the Nevsky overpass on Yuzhnoye Highway, near Sortirovochnaya railway station in St Petersburg.

Experts said the high number of such crashes is mainly caused by outdated infrastructure, driver fatigue, and inattention.
