UNCAPTIONED: Ariana Grande reveals upcoming tour could be her last
Ariana Grande has revealed that her upcoming arena tour, kicking off next year, could be her last. The One Last Time singer admitted that her pop career has "taken over" her life and that she is preparing to prioritise other passions. Speaking on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, the Wicked star shared of her Eternal Sunshine tour: ”I’m very excited to do this small tour. But I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time. I'm going to give it my all, and it's going to be beautiful, and I'm so grateful. I think that's why I'm doing it. Because I'm like, one last hurrah. For now.” Grande, who released her chart-topping album Eternal Sunshine in March 2024, is set to embark on her first major tour in seven years next summer, performing across the US and Canada before bringing the show to the O2 Arena in London for 10 nights. The singer's decision to step back from touring after that is one that's been a while in the making. ”I spent so much time only doing pop music, but I grew up as a girl who loved musical theatre and comedy, so I think the thing that will be best for my soul and for my art is chasing things that feel very right in the moment, even if it's spontaneous and something different,” Grande has pivoted towards acting in recent years, most notably starring as Glinda in the Hollywood adaptation of Wicked. She is currently filming Fockers In-Law, the next instalment in the Meet the Parents franchise alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
