A dramatic 16-second video shared by climate journalist Lorenzo Tecleme captures flames engulfing displays in a COP30 pavilion in Belém, Brazil, on November 20, 2025, while delegates evacuate amid red emergency lighting and shouted warnings in multiple languages.

According to reports, the fire broke out in one of the temporary sideline-event pavilions, prompting parts of the venue to be evacuated as alarms rang out. Fire services responded quickly and brought the blaze under control, with no injuries reported.

The incident highlights the risks posed by the summit’s large, temporary structure — with thousands of participants packed into makeshift pavilions as critical climate negotiations unfold.
