A family caught a snake and placed it inside a plastic bag.

Margielyn Gerardo and her relatives were left baffled after discovering the juvenile reticulated python in Bulacan, the Philippines.

Footage shows Margielyn peeking at the motionless 6ft serpent coiling inside the sack on November 12.

She can be heard gasping in shock as she steps back from the container.

She said: 'We saw the snake hanging from the ceiling down to my sister's room. I was so nervous and terrified, thinking that it wasn't alone in our house.'

Pythons are non-venomous constrictors known for ambushing their prey and wrapping around it to suffocate it.

These snakes often wander into residential areas in search of food, especially during the hot season when their natural habitats are disturbed.
