Fire breaks out inside COP30 venue in Belem, Brazil
On November 20, 2025, in Belém, Brazil, @Cat_lucy1 shared a video of a fire that broke out in the Blue Zone of the UN Climate Summit (COP30) venue. In the video, flames and thick smoke spread through part of the facility, causing alarm among attendees. The incident prompted a temporary evacuation and suspension of discussions as people rushed out of the building in visible panic. According to reports, the fire was caused by exposed electrical wiring combined with water leaks in the area. Emergency crews responded quickly and managed to contain the blaze, with no serious injuries reported. After inspections confirmed the building was safe, the venue reopened later that evening, allowing the summit to resume.
