An angry cop wrestled an anti-Trump protester to the ground while she was dressed as a giant penis.

Bizarre footage shows Fairhope Police Colonel Andrew Babb confronting Renea Gamble, 61, as she wore a semi-inflatable phallic-shaped costume in Alabama on October 18.

Colonel Andrew is heard in the video saying: 'If my kids had to come by and see this, how would you explain it to them?'

The grandmother remained calm, asking the officer if he was recording while holding a placard that read 'No D*ck tator.' She also asked twice whether she was being detained, but the officer did not answer before she began walking away.

However, the colonel pulled Renea from the back of her suit, causing her to fall to the ground. Other protesters shouted at the officer to leave her alone as he undressed the suit.

Police restrained the elderly woman, helped her back to her feet, and escorted her to a police truck. She was handcuffed before another officer transferred her to a separate vehicle.

Renea's lawyers later filed a 13-page brief seeking dismissal of misdemeanour charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, arguing the arrest violated her First Amendment rights.

The filing said she was participating in the October 18 'No Kings' demonstration along Greeno Road, a political protest aimed at Donald Trump.

It referenced prior controversial public demonstrations tolerated in the United States, including Nazi marches in communities of Holocaust survivors, Ku Klux Klan cross burnings, flag-burning protests, and Westboro Baptist Church demonstrations at military funerals. The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the legality of these events, which the filing cites as grounds for dismissing the charges.

The report added Renea wore a cartoonish inflatable penis costume purchased at a Spirit Halloween store in Foley and was the last inflatable costume of its kind available in the shop.

It stated: 'Until police arrived, no one present appeared so offended by Ms. Gamble's costume as to be ready to fight over it. If anything, it was aimed at Donald Trump, who was, by all accounts, nowhere near Fairhope and in no position to begin fisticuffs.'
