Woman who can't manage to look after a garden gets one painted on her house
A woman who 'dreamed' of having a garden but couldn't manage to look after one had one painted - onto her house.
Muriel Baker, 94, said her age meant she wouldn't be able to do any watering or weeding.
But now the outside of her home in Meare near Glastobury in Somerset has been transformed into a scenic flowery garden.
The mural was painted by artist Jon Minshull and features an array of trees, roses and even butterflies, per Muriel's request.
She said the painting makes her feel like she sitting in a real garden.
Muriel said: "I can't garden at my age. "
''I thought how nice it would be to have a garden out on the the wall so I can look outside and look at a garden without doing any gardening.
"He's put a nice little birds, a robin, a deer and he also put a couple of butterflies and roses all round the doorway."
"It's been lovely. I've had a lot of people coming in and looking at it. They all like it. They can't believe the little details and how he's done it."
"It's incredible what he's done with it. it's brought a lot of pleasure to the local community. They are coming from far away to have a look at it. "
"I've got a garden without having to weed or watering. I was very active up to three years ago but I can still move around but as soon as we get the sun again it will be lovely."
This was the second mural Jon did at Muriel's house - the first one was a farmhouse in a separate wall done in Spring last year.
She said both murals costed £2,000 but they are "well worth it"."
Muriel said: "I'd like my dad milking the cows. I gave Jonathan a photo and he did it on the wall in a milking shed. "
"It really is lovely."
Jon, 61, has painted thousands murals around the UK and the US and his themes usually feature nature and wildlife.
In total he has completed nearly 30 murals in Glastonbury - including a giant giraffe and giant flowers.
He said this was the first time he's done one for someone Muriel's age.
The farmhouse mural took about eight days to complete and the second one five days.
Jon, from Glastonbury, said: "Because she's got such a small garden area she just wanted a nice garden and a nice view"
"It was wonderful to see her face when it was completed. "
"To bring happiness to people is why I do what I do. When you see their expressions it makes my world so it's really good."
