A zipliner was rescued after becoming stuck above a terrifying 500ft drop in the Philippines.

The holidaymaker was whizzing above the mountain landscape when the trolley halted mid-ride, prompting a zipline operator to retrieve him in Badian, Cebu.

Footage captured by James Ferolino shows the holidaymaker hanging on the cable, lying on his stomach in a Superman-style harness as he waits for the guide to approach him on October 31.

Moments later, as the guide reached him, the zipliner grabbed the guide's leg.

Upon securing the tourist, the operator then traversed back by holding onto the trolley retriever.

The tourist did not sustain any injuries from the incident.

The zipline guide said: 'He became stuck because the wind was moving against his direction. We have staff on standby near the cable lines, so he was immediately rescued after the incident was reported.'
