2- RTK WORKERS’ UNION PRESIDENT GEZIM BIMBASHI SPEAKING (In Kosovar) PRISHTINA, KOSOVO - NOVEMBER 24: Around 700 employees of Kosovo’s public broadcaster RTK went on strike in Pristina, saying they have not received their October salaries.

They gathered outside the RTK headquarters carrying banners demanding their wages.

Union leader Gezim Bimbashi told reporters that staff are struggling without pay and urged authorities to resolve the funding crisis.

Kosovo’s parliament has been unable to approve RTK’s budget because parliamentary committees have not been formed since the 9 February general election.

RTK has operated without a budget for two months, and workers plan to strike for two hours each day until their salaries are paid.

The union hopes a solution will be found soon to prevent further disruption to the public broadcaster’s operations.
