Exclusive- Sixth-grade ‘iodine clock’ demo stuns students—and one accidental curse word steals the show
A sixth-grade science experiment has gone viral after sparking laughter and amazement in the classroom. The clip, posted to TikTok by Dominique Tamplet, has now reached 429,800 views.
The video shows students reacting to the iodine clock reaction, a classic chemistry demonstration in which a clear solution suddenly changes colour after a timed delay. Dominique explained that the experiment was part of a unit on the properties of matter, highlighting the formation of a new substance.
One student’s shocked reaction included a slip of cussing, which Dominique later laughed off, saying, “I normally don’t allow cussing, but once I watched the video, it was a valid reaction. I told him not to cuss anymore, but I get it.”
