China: Green trade emerges as new driver of China's foreign trade
Green trade is emerging as a vital catalyst for China's foreign trade growth, with many companies specializing in eco-friendly products reporting significant increases on overseas markets. Located in Liuzhou City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, a machinery company has seen a remarkable growth of electric loader exports this year, thanks to the product's excellent performance. The company's electric loaders can operate for up to eight hours on a single charge, with running costs only one-third of traditional diesel-powered models. "This year, exports of Chinese electric loaders have surged by 120 percent compared to last year, demonstrating the growing maturity and reliability of China's electric-drive technology," said Yao Dongxu, manufacturing director of electric loaders at Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd. From electric equipment to photovoltaic components, China's green products are rapidly advancing on the global stage. In the first 10 months of this year, China's total exports of wind turbines reached 10.33 billion yuan (1.45 billion U.S. dollars), marking a year-on-year increase of 44.9 percent, while photovoltaic products exports have surpassed 200 billion yuan (28.16 billion U.S. dollars) for four consecutive years. "Our eco-friendly products are gaining increasing popularity, and we anticipate exports will reach approximately 60 million U.S. dollars this year, a 10 percent increase year on year," said Wu Yao, senior manager of the international department at King Label Technology Co. Ltd. The latest statistics show that China has built 6,430 national-level green factories and 491 green industrial parks, while Chinese companies have developed and promoted more than 40,000 types of green products. "Next, we will expand the import and export of green products and technologies. We will actively participate in global consultations on green trade rules and enhance our enterprises' capabilities for green and low-carbon development," said Li Na, deputy director general of the Department of Foreign Trade under China's Ministry of Commerce.
