Foreign Tourists To Pay Extra Fee To Visit US National Parks. Under new rules announced by the Department of the Interior, foreign tourists will soon need to pay an additional $100 on top of existing entry fees to visit 11 of the most popular parks, including Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. From 2026, non-residents will also be charged more than $250 for an annual parks pass while US citizens and permanent residents will continue to pay $80. The policy, officials say, is designed to “put American families first” by keeping entry affordable for taxpayers who already fund the National Park System. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum says the changes ensure international visitors “contribute their fair share” to preserving the parks for future generations. The hike will roll out alongside a new online booking system and improved access for motorcyclists. The announcement also includes eight US-resident-only “patriotic fee-free” days in 2026. The move follows a Trump executive order aimed at boosting conservation funding, even as his administration simultaneously planned deep cuts to the Park Service budget.
