US: Officers Pull Driver From Burning Car In Dramatic Blue Mound Rescue
Blue Mound, United States - October 29, 2025 At approximately 4:57 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, Blue Mound Police officers were dispatched to a vehicle fire with possible entrapment at Glenn Drive and Waggoman Road. Officer Aguilar and Officer Ochoa arrived within seconds, reaching the scene at about 4:58 a.m., according to the call sheet. When they arrived, they found a burning vehicle with a single occupant still inside, trying to break out the rear window. Both officers moved immediately into action. Officer Aguilar worked on the rear passenger-side window, while Officer Ochoa attempted to break the rear window. The rear passenger-side window gave way first, allowing Officer Aguilar to pull the trapped occupant out of the burning vehicle and guide him to safety. Afterward, Officer Aguilar retrieved a fire extinguisher from his patrol unit in an attempt to suppress the flames while Officer Ochoa stayed with the driver. Within minutes, the vehicle became fully engulfed. Blue Mound Fire Chief Wood and members of the Saginaw Fire Department arrived shortly after and were able to contain the blaze. The Public Works Department responded to manage runoff and ensure scene safety, and AA Wrecker later removed the vehicle once conditions allowed. Later that morning, the department reviewed body-worn camera footage and examined the burned vehicle at the AA Wrecker impound lot, where only the body and frame remained. Officials said the severity of the fire made it clear the outcome could have been far worse without the officers’ rapid and decisive actions. The Blue Mound Police Department will recommend Life-Saving Awards for both Officer Aguilar and Officer Ochoa at this month’s City Council meeting. The department also expressed appreciation to Chief Wood, the Saginaw Fire Department, the Public Works Department, The Tarrant County Regional Communications and AA Wrecker for their coordinated response.
