Drunk German tourist wheeled back to hotel in vegetable cart in Thailand
This is the amusing moment a drunk German tourist was wheeled back to a hotel in a vegetable cart in Thailand.
The intoxicated holidaymaker, Tomas, asked a vendor to transport him to his accommodation after a big night out along Railay Beach in Krabi.
Footage captured by local Valerij Pronin shows the tattooed vacationer holding a can of beer, speaking with the man in a red shirt on November 20.
After telling him where he was staying, he carefully walked towards the cart with the lad helping him out, to prevent him from tipping over.
Last year, German Sina Franziska Baumann, 23, and her Australian friend Tahli May Benson, 19, had overindulged at bars on the party island of Koh Phi Phi.
This prompted a caring policeman to use a trolley to wheel the two drunk female backpackers to their hotel.
The same year, Police officials from Patong Police Station implemented a similar safety measure, offering assistance to inebriated tourists by ensuring they were safely transported to their accommodations.
This initiative has been credited with helping to prevent accidents and other alcohol-related incidents in the region.
The Ministry of Public Health previously suggested that nightspots wanting to extend their operating hours should implement breathalyser tests for patrons before they leave and arrange transport services, if necessary, as part of efforts to enhance tourist safety.
