Israeli activists gathered Friday, Nov. 28, outside a US base in Kiryat Gat to voice support for Palestinians in the West Bank.
Protesters called for protection of Palestinians from Israeli attacks in the territory, urging stronger security measures amid escalating violence and repeated assaults.
They also denounced what they described as Israel’s violations against Palestinians.
Demonstrators said Palestinians have the right to live safely on their own land and called for an end to the occupation and settler attacks.
Banners carried by protesters included slogans such as “Palestinian lives matter,” “Democracy cannot coexist with occupation,” and “Trump, stop Israeli terror in the West Bank.”
The Israeli army started a large-scale military offensive in the Tubas governorate in the northern West Bank on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, the army started a large-scale Israeli assault in the northern occupied West Bank, specifically in the Jenin and Tubas provinces.
Alongside the two-year war in Gaza, where nearly 70,000 people have been killed, assaults by the army and illegal settlers in the West Bank have killed at least 1,083 Palestinians and injured about 11,000, while more than 20,500 have been detained, according to official Palestinian figures.
In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
