Sri Lanka: Helicopter Crew Rescues Woman And Two Girls From Flooded House In Polonnaruwa
Diyabeduma, Sri Lanka - November 28, 2025 A Bell-212 helicopter from No. 7 Helicopter Squadron at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda rescued a woman and two girls trapped inside a flooded house this afternoon as rising waters intensified around the area. The Sri Lanka Air Force reported that the crew responded amid worsening conditions, flying into the flood zone to reach the stranded residents. The helicopter hovered above the inundated home while airmen carried out the rescue, bringing all three to safety as water continued to rise around the building.
