Fire crews battled severe weather to secure a road affected by a landslide in Italy.

Aerial footage shows emergency responders assessing the damage in Ospedaletto d'Alpinolo, in the Avellino area, on November 26.

Four hairpin bends were impacted by the slope failure, and teams were deployed to implement safety measures and carry out constant monitoring.

More than 200 interventions had been carried out to address structural instability of buildings, dangerous trees, and water-related damage.

Teams were also engaged in around 100 further requests for assistance that remained pending.

The most serious issues were reported in the province of Salerno, particularly in the Agro nocerino-sarnese area, including the municipalities of San Marzano, Pagani, Scafati, Nocera, and Angri.

Firefighters conducted rescues in areas where watercourses had overflowed, bringing drivers trapped in vehicles and residents stranded on lower floors of flooded homes to safety.

The rescue response was reinforced by fire brigade commands in Naples, Salerno, and Avellino.
