TIRANA, ALBANIA (NOV. 29, 2025) (USERS MUST CREDIT "ALBANIAN PRIME MINISTRY" HANDOUT, MUST NOT OBSCURE LOGO — EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Albania commemorated the 81st anniversary of its liberation from fascism on Saturday, Nov. 29, with ceremonies held across the country.

The main event to mark Liberation Day took place at the Martyrs' Cemetery in the capital, Tirana.

The ceremony was attended by high-level officials, including Albanian President Bajram Begaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama, and Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi. Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, representatives of the Albanian Armed Forces, and other dignitaries were also present.

The officials paid their respects by laying wreaths at the monument in the cemetery.

Albania, which was surrounded by Italian and German forces during World War II, celebrates November 29, 1944, as Liberation Day, marking the departure of German troops from its territory.
