Excited children played in artificial snow at a Christmas display in tropical Thailand.

Youngsters and their parents - who have never experienced the freezing winter weather - laughed as fake flakes fell from a snow machine in Bangkok.

Footage shows families running through the falling snow, taking photos, and trying to catch the powder in their palms.

The display is part of the Disney The Magical Stars 2026 event, which runs until January 6, and also features a 60ft (18m) Christmas tree and statues of popular Disney characters.

The theme ‘Let the Snow Bring the Magic' includes a dedicated ‘Frozen' booth where snow continues to fall every evening from 6 pm.

Locals were drawn to the unique holiday experience as the winter-themed display contrasts with the country's tropical climate.

Thailand is a predominantly Buddhist country, with over 90 per cent of the population practising the faith. Despite this, Christmas is observed mainly as a secular and commercial celebration rather than a religious holiday.
