Disney-themed Christmas display is a hit with locals in Thailand
A Disney-themed Christmas display outside a shopping mall is drawing crowds of families in Thailand.
The exhibition features a 60ft (18m) tree and scenes showcasing popular characters as part of the Disney The Magical Stars 2026 event, set outside Central World in Bangkok.
Footage shows visitors enjoying statues of Mickey Mouse, Lilo and Stitch, Frozen's Elsa and Toy Story characters.
Guests posed for selfies beside standees and watched performances on a stage, where singers performed songs from Disney movies.
The display carries the theme 'Let the Snow Bring the Magic' and includes a dedicated ‘Frozen' booth with artificial snow falling daily from 6pm.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand also participated, helping operate the snow machine, which was popular among children.
Thailand is a predominantly Buddhist country, with over 90 per cent of the population practising the faith. Despite this, Christmas is observed mainly as a secular and commercial celebration rather than a religious holiday.
