This is the dramatic moment a group of motorists retreated as a landslide crashed down a mountain.

Gladys Divino and her two Japanese guests were heading to Buscalan Village to meet tattoo artist Apo Whang Od.

But they froze in terror as they watched boulders and debris cascade onto their path in Mountain Province, the Philippines.

Footage shows four men watching nearby while a motorist accelerated away from the area on November 26.

Moments later, the holidaymakers rushed to safety as soil and rocks continued to fall onto the motorway.

No one was injured in the incident.

Gladys said: 'Our original itinerary was to visit the village for their tattoos, but we had to change our plans and head to Sagada instead. We are all safe and no one was harmed from what happened.'

Landslides occur when slopes become unstable due to factors such as heavy rainfall, earthquakes, volcanic activity, or human interference, causing soil, rocks, and debris to rapidly slide downhill.
