Highway Footage: Multiple Vehicles Destroyed in Serious Crash in the Interior of Mato Grosso (Brazil)
A video recorded by a passing driver shows the scene of destruction left by a serious accident on the BR-163, between Sorriso and Lucas do Rio Verde (MT), on Tuesday morning (25). The footage reveals mangled vehicles and the highway completely blocked after a collision involving a pickup truck, a semi-truck, a box truck, and a vehicle belonging to the Sorriso Health Department.
According to preliminary information, the pickup — traveling from Sorriso toward Lucas do Rio Verde — collided head-on with the semi-truck. With the impact, the cargo vehicle veered off the road, and the box truck behind it was unable to brake in time, crashing into the back of the trailer.
The pickup was completely destroyed, and the driver died at the scene. A fourth vehicle, which was transporting patients, nearly became involved, but the driver managed to brake just in time.
The stretch — which is undergoing duplication works and experiences heavy traffic — was fully blocked while forensic teams and road crews worked to clear the wreckage and remove the vehicles.
