Ukrainian soldiers joined combat training at a new military camp in southeastern Poland, set up by the Norwegian Army and backed by NATO Allies.

Camp Jomsborg was created earlier this year under Operation Legio, a programme to train, equip, and fund Ukraine's armed forces.

Footage from the site reportedly shows Ukrainian troops practising trench-clearing drills and firing machine guns.

Authorities said the effort is supported by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and Poland.

Norway leads the operation, with its trainers working alongside Estonian Army instructors to give Ukrainian troops the skills needed for frontline combat.

Camp Jomsborg, named after a mythical Viking fortress, is near the Ukrainian border and provides a secure base for soldiers to learn new tactics before returning to the battlefield.

The facility is undergoing major expansion to accommodate significantly more trainees.
